Morgan Hill Christmas Parade

What a great little town we live in!  The Morgan Hill Christmas Parade is sponsored by the Morgan Hill Kiwanis Club and is held on the first Saturday of December every year.  Encouraging all participants to deck their entries out with lights, the parade is rumoured to be visible from the North Pole (or at least North Depot Street). This year's lineup featured entries from The Sobrato "Swing" Marching Band, The Monterey Bay PT Cruisers, The Live Oak High School Drum Line, The Britton Bobcats Cheer Squad, and of course, the self proclaimed world champion Lake Anderson Bocce Club!  Morgan Hill also features one of the oldest Fourth of July Parades in California, so be sure to set up your chair's early for that one this summer.  If you live here, then you understand what a great place Morgan Hill is.  If you don't live here, then my name is Dave Frazer & I'm a local Morgan Hill Realtor that specializes in Morgan Hill Real Estate and Gilroy Real Estate and I can help you find your dream home in this dream town.  Life is short...enjoy it!

Cheers,

Long Live the Quail Canyon Inn

Does anyone out there remember the Quail Canyon Inn on the west side of Morgan Hill?  More of a shack, really, but a Morgan Hill landmark just the same.  Nestled off Oak Glen Avenue on the rugged shores of Chesbro Lake, the Quail was a great place to enjoy a cold beer while taking in panoramic views of the 283 acre reservoir.  On weekends the dirt driveway was lined with Harley Davidsons, and the tavern was known for a throwback atmosphere and great homemade chili.  But, unfortunately, the Quail burned to the ground in 2005 after 60+ years in operation.  If you pass by today on Friday afternoons you may still see a few bikers enjoying a 6 pack on the burned and hallowed ground where the Quail once stood, lamenting the loss of another local icon that couldn't be rebuilt to today's strict building codes.

Morgan Hill is rich in history, and living here is like living no where else.  My name is David Frazer and I'm a local Realtor that lives and works in this one of a kind town.  To see a great home with breathtaking views of Chesbro Lake, then just visit http://www.chesbrolake.com/  I am a top producing Morgan Hill Realtor, and I can help you find a Morgan Hill Home or Gilroy Home that will make you smile!

Gilroy Fixer

Anyone know where this charming fixer upper is located in Gilroy?  The correct answer would be Gilroy Hot Springs!  That's right........tucked away in Gilroy's rural east side was a hot spring resort that featured a luxury hotel and was a world renowned destination.  Gilroy's Hot Springs enjoyed roaring success from the late 1800's to the early 1900's, and the grounds could accommodate upwards of 500 guests.

The property is now part of Henry Coe Park and while the hotel and most of the soaking cabins and other structures are either long gone or in disrepair, the Friends of Gilroy Hot Springs regularly hosts tours at the site.  The dilapidated structures that eerily remain are in stark contrast to the vibrant resort that once existed.....and it will be sure to sent nostalgic chills through your body.

My name is David Frazer and I'm a Morgan Hill & Gilroy Realtor that sells real estate because I am passionate about real estate.  There are some hidden gems in the South County, & if you need a Morgan Hill Realtor or a Gilroy Realtor to help you find them, then call me today at 408-930-2673.

Coyote Lake Spillway Rages!

What a wet wet winter we had!  One of the highlights was a hike up to Coyote Lake, which was filled to capacity and then some.  Since a portion of the Coyote Dam is built on an earthquake fault, the water district policy is not to let it get more than 50% of capacity.  Mother Nature had a different idea, however, and there was no way to let water out fast enough this year to stay ahead of the rains.  What you see above is a rare  and spectacular shot of the Coyote spillway dumping water into Coyote Creek.  There are some beautiful pieces of Gilroy Real Estate, and let me know if you would like to call one home. My name is David Frazer, and I'm a local Realtor that can help.

Summer arrives to Morgan Hill's Lake Anderson

OK, so it took until May, but summer finally arrived to Morgan Hill's Lake Anderson over the weekend.  The sun was out, the daytime temps were in the 80's, and the frogs were singing all night long!  Lake Anderson is Santa Clara County's largest drinking water reservoir, and is one of the only spots you can find lakeside real estate in the county.  It's a breathtaking setting, where you may see the fog lifting off the water in the morning, the bald eagles soaring, the sun setting in a fire red sky, and the fish jumping.  Just a couple weeks ago debris from Coyote Creek that washed into Lake Anderson from the overflowing Coyote Dam was making the catfish jump like I've never seen.  They were slapping the water in such large numbers that it woke me up!  In some good news for the Holiday Lake Estates Real Estate market, I just listed 2975 Holiday Court last week and received multiple offers the first day on the market.  If you are looking to explore the beauty of a home in Holiday Lake Estates or Jackson Oaks, then call me today at 408-930-2673 to find out where the good deals are.  My name is Dave Frazer and I'm a local Morgan Hill Realtor that can help.
