Why Morgan Hill?

Morgan Hill has quickly become South County's #1 destination, and it's easy to see why.  The vibrant downtown is alive with street festivals, wine strolls, holiday parades, plenty of excellent restaurants, and a weekly Farmer’s Market that give it that "Main Street USA" feel.  The "Mushroom Mardis Gras" and the "Taste of Morgan Hill" are two annual favorites that transform Downtown into a fun street festival & Morgan Hill's 4th of July Celebration features one of the largest & oldest running July 4th Parades and culminates with live fireworks.  During the summer months, Downtown also features a Thursday Night Street Dance and Friday Night Music Series.  Local favorite bands like Shane Dwight, Sugar Daddy, Usual Suspects, and Super Bad are regulars each summer & most events are free.  Downtown is also adding a parking garage and transforming it's traffic patterns to make it more bike & pedestrian friendly.

And the rich agricultural history of Morgan Hill is still alive and well.  In addition to Andy's OrchardChiala Farms, Spina FarmsUesugi Farms, and LJB Farms, there are dozens of local wineries that have made the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail a very popular destination.  Several of the South Santa Clara County Wineries have even made outstanding showings in recent San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competitions.   That’s another good reason why people are buying Morgan Hill Homes!  If you haven't been to any of the local wineries down here, then pack up the picnic basket & head on down.  Our award winning wineries are just the beginning!

For you park hoppers out there, you'll love Morgan Hill's location.  Anderson Lake is the largest reservoir in Santa Clara County and features recreational boating & great fishing.  Uvas Canyon, Henry Coe, Harvey Bear, & Coyote Creek offer great locations for hiking, mountain biking, jogging, or horseback riding.  And these are just a few of the many great parks nearby.

If you are looking for value & quality of life, then it's sure hard to beat the combination that Morgan Hill offers.  My name is Dave Frazer and I'm a local Realtor that can help find what you are looking for.  Call me today at 408-930-2673 for more information about this great little city of ours.

Thanks, -Dave

"Won't you fly high, free bird, yeah?"

How can a lemonade stand help an injured owl to fly?  Well, in this case the majority of proceeds from this bustling lemonade & cookie stand were donated to the Wildlife Education & Rehabilitation Center (WERC) in Morgan Hill, CA.  The hosts of the stand (Sammie Frazer & Tessa Gilmour) set up shop in the meadow on Holiday Drive near Lake Anderson & the 100 degree heat resulted in a steady stream of customers stopping in for a glass of refreshing ice cold lemonade.  WERC is a local non-profit organization whose mission statement is to provide the community with rehabilitation services for orphaned, injured, and sick native wildlife.  Through their education programs, WERC encourages a peaceful coexistence between civilization and our native wildlife.  You can usually find them at the Taste of Morgan Hill or the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras, with an array of beautiful animals on display.  Their website is at and check them out for upcoming events, fundraisers, and of course the animal of the month!

Morgan Hill, San Martin, & Gilroy have a rich agricultural & ranching history that has led to the need for humans & wildlife to coexist peacefully.  And living amongst wildlife is one of the reasons why so many people love living in South Santa Clara County.  If you are looking to escape the Bay Area crowds, then come on down to any one of these communities for some much needed breathing room.  In terms of value & quality of life, it's sure hard to beat the combination that South County offers.

My name is Dave Frazer, and I'm a local Realtor that can help find your dream home in this paradise we call South County.  I look forward to chatting with you. Email or call me anytime at 408-930-2673.

The Eagle Has Landed (In Holiday Lake Estates!)

What a comeback!  Taken off the endangered species list in 2007, the Bald Eagle is alive & well in Morgan Hill, California.  This photo was taken of a Bald Eagle that is a regular visitor to Lake Anderson, and he has been seen frequently along with a few friends in the Holiday Lake Estates neighborhood.  This old digger pine at the end of Manzanita Drive is one of his favorite perches, because it offers a great vantage point to hunt for ducks & fish in the lake below.  You've come a long way, Baldy!

Morgan Hill is a small town just south of San Jose, California.  If the hustle & bustle of Silicon Valley is too much for you, then buying a Morgan Hill home may be the answer.  The wildlife in Morgan Hill is abundant and life is too short not to enjoy it.  The Tule Elk that were once hunted so aggressively that their numbers dwindled down to about 2 dozen are now a common site on the Eastern Shores of Lake Anderson.  Imagine that, sitting on your back deck and watching the Tule Elk & Bald Eagles.  If that sounds relaxing to you, then Holiday Lake Estates Real Estate might be your answer.  Holiday Lake Estates is also the home of the celebrated Lake Anderson Paddle Club and the World Renowned Lake Anderson Bocce Club.

Morgan Hill also offers a lot for the outdoor enthusiast, featuring boating at Anderson Lake County Park, biking at Coyote Creek, backpacking at Henry Coe State Park, falling in love by the waterfalls of Uvas Canyon County Park (that's where I proposed to my wife so I had to mention that one!!), an aquatic center, an outdoor soccer field complex, a skate park, and the list goes on.

My name is Dave Frazer & I'm a local Realtor that can help you find what you are looking for in a Morgan Hill property.  The most common feedback I get after a client buys a Morgan Hill home is, "I wish we had moved here sooner!"  If you wanna get away & are looking for Morgan Hill Real Estate, then call me today at 408-930-2673.  I can also tell you what "not on the market" deals might be available for Anderson Lake homes.

San Martin Airplane Factory for Sale!!!

Did you know there was once an airplane factory in San Martin, California?  While it's not exactly an operation that threatened to put Boeing out of business, the "factory" is the Garratt Estate's backyard workshop at 1850 Maple Avenue in San Martin 95046.  It was at this location that Mansfield "Gary" Garratt built a Lancair 4P that would give any prop or jetbuilder a run for their money.  The state of the art shop measures in at 5000 square feet & is equipped with all the bells and whistles.  Featuring 110-220-440 three phase power, Tungsten lighting, an operational bridge crane, drive through bay doors for tractor trailer deliveries, compressed air hookups throughout, and even insulation & heating for those late winter nights when you just can't call it quits.  Gary finished building his Lancair 4P in the 1850 Maple Avenue workshop several years ago, and I'm told by Gary's son Tyler that his dad's dream plane has hit speeds of over 320 knots (that's 370 MPH for you passengers!)  Wow.....very impressive & definitely something to brag about in this sleepy little south county town.

The Garratt Estate is now for sale!  In addition to the super duper workshop, the property boasts almost 7 acres of flat & usable land, a single story updated ranch home of almost 2100 square feet, a detached guest cottage, and spectacular views of Fry's Institute Golf Course.  While you may not long to be an airplane builder, you most certainly have dreams of your own.  Maybe it's winemaking, or organic farming, or barrel riding, or refinishing furniture, or growing Blenheim apricots, or tinkering on classic cars.  Life is short, and no matter what your goals & desires are, the Garratt Estate may offer the perfect opportunity to realize that dream.  What will your legacy be?

My name is David Frazer with Alain Pinel Realtors & I'm a local Realtor that can find what you're looking for.  I specialize in Santa Clara County Homes & I've been helping clients for over 8 years.  If you are looking for San Martin Real Estate, Morgan Hill Real Estate, Gilroy Real Estate, or a home or ranch anywhere else in the county then call me today at 408-930-2673.  I can also find you some great opportunities for San Benito County real estate.

Morgan Hill Christmas Parade

What a great little town we live in!  The Morgan Hill Christmas Parade is sponsored by the Morgan Hill Kiwanis Club and is held on the first Saturday of December every year.  Encouraging all participants to deck their entries out with lights, the parade is rumoured to be visible from the North Pole (or at least North Depot Street). This year's lineup featured entries from The Sobrato "Swing" Marching Band, The Monterey Bay PT Cruisers, The Live Oak High School Drum Line, The Britton Bobcats Cheer Squad, and of course, the self proclaimed world champion Lake Anderson Bocce Club!  Morgan Hill also features one of the oldest Fourth of July Parades in California, so be sure to set up your chair's early for that one this summer.  If you live here, then you understand what a great place Morgan Hill is.  If you don't live here, then my name is Dave Frazer & I'm a local Morgan Hill Realtor that specializes in Morgan Hill Real Estate and Gilroy Real Estate and I can help you find your dream home in this dream town.  Life is short...enjoy it!
